Jack the Pumpkin King will lead the costume parade at 4:30 pm. Help set a new record, bring carved pumpkins with candles. Last year the Henderson record was set at 1,000. Pumpkins will be lit starting at dusk and a new record announced at 9pm.

I haven't attended the festival before but have a good friend who says it is a wonderful festival to attend. They have the schools attend free on 10-12 and it's open to the public on Oct 13th.

Location of Festival: Sunset Park in Henderson
Festival times: open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 13 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14.
Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a three-day pass for adults and $5 per day or $10 for a three-day pass for seniors and students. Ages 5 and younger are free.

Jim's mom joined the Newcomerss Club when she moved here and still enjoys the friendships she has made. They have even branched off with related clubs that sound fun.
“Newcomers Clubs” are social clubs with memberships open to all women who have established (or reestablished) residence in the Las Vegas Valley area. Many have orientation/coffee & monthly luncheons to meet others with similar interests.
